I bought the Ebac 2850e as a gift for my sister who resides in a static caravan (Park-home) in early November 2011. She lives close to the banks of the river Thames out in the countryside! Her caravan doesn't have double glazing or the latest insulation.
The machine has been fantastic throughout winter. She puts her washing out onto a clothes horse and has had very little tumble drying to do as a result. She very seldom has fogged-up windows and what a difference it has made to how her furniture feels in winter. Her home has been so much warmer too.
After 8 months I can confidently recommend the Ebac 2850e to anyone who wants a reliable, hardworking dehumidifier. She is able to sleep with the machine running at night as it is quite quiet. Only one small drawback, it is a little noisy when starting or shutting down when on Auto, but one soon becomes used to this. Her old (no name brand mentioned) dehumidifier sounded like a tractor and had to be turned off so one could get some sleep.
I broke a nail trying to change the filter, but that was mostly my own stupidity! Not difficult to do. It's not complicated to operate, easy to set up and well worth the money!

We have used Ebac dehumidifiers for 18 years, the first lasted 10 years (with a repair at 6 years - turned round in a week.), the second (2800e) has just given up the ghost at 8 years. So this will be our 3rd in 18 years.
It is quiet, efficient and does the job. We use ours between October and March on a manual setting of maximum extract and minimum fan speed. The first six weeks or so will fill the container every 24 hours after which it gathers less as the moisture levels decline. We vacuum the standard filter once a month or so and have never needed to replace one yet.
