I bought this after seeing a recommendation on this site regarding where to get a cheap price. I was attracted by the price because I really did not know if I needed a dehumidifier. I had never noticed dampness in the house. I have since been amazed at the amount of water it extracts. Day after day I have to empty out 2 litres of water just from using it upstairs. This is summer (admittedly a damp summer) and I wonder just what I will get in winter!
Frankly, if I had known how much I needed it I would have paid extra and bought a more powerful dehumidifier, one that extracts 6 or 10 litres a day. That way I would not have had to have the unit on for so many hours each day, which would have saved power.
One annoying point is the amount of heat it generates. This will no doubt be welcome in winter, but I do not necessarily want my rooms heated in summer.
It certainly is not a quiet unit. I am noise sensitive and am very aware of it if I am upstairs while it is working. In fact, I can hear it from downstairs unless I close doors. However, I suspect all dehumidifiers are noisy.

It performs almost exactly as advertised.

I like funky blue lights (in this case not too bright of course!), so I don't trip over it when the place is dark and I am in zombie mode.

I live in an appartment and often have to dry things indoors and I don't want windows wide open for much of the year. This was the main reason for purchasing, and it does the job I want by a) dehumidifying as described and thus b) keeping down condensation and even more important, damp.

On an especially heavy day, the 2 litre tank can be filled in under a day. But this unit is not advertised as high capacity, in absolute terms. So not much of a minus there.

The negative ions emitter thing works too, thus the filter is aided to help 'clean' the air. A very good thing. This is not a full-on air conditioning purifier, but does the next best thing. Good value considering its primary purpose.

Why the "almost" mentioned earlier? Sometimes, especially late in the day, it can seem noisy if it is working hard. Only quiet when coasting at low humidity times. Ordinarily, I wouldn't have noticed this enough to minus a star, but after they brag about being quiet... well, I will dock one for that.

Summary: Good model, especially suitable for appartments or smaller areas within larger buildings (maybe 1/floor in an average house needed).

quiet, new technology, takes 2 litres overnight easy, ioniser is fabulous. It has improved the general condition of our little old and slightly damp cottage. The best thing we've bought in ages, by the way, they are only £65 at Tescos .... go get one !!!!
